Digital Day 2021 was a huge success with numerous digital agencies across the UK heading back to school for the day to inspire the next generation about the world of digital.
With our BIMA members supporting us, the students were given an insight into the digital industry about the amazing roles and careers available!
WWF Challenge – CLIMATE CHANGE
This year’s Digital Day challenge was about climate change, the greatest environmental challenge the world has ever faced. The Earth’s atmosphere is warming, and, in some cases, weather patterns, climates and natural environments are changing quicker than wildlife or people can adapt. We have the knowledge and the technology to reduce our impact on the climate. We just need to make it happen.
Everyone has an environmental footprint, this is made up of all the things we do that have an impact on our planet. We asked the students how we can use technology and digital solutions to make it easier for people to understand the true environmental footprint of products and services, allowing households, schools, universities and businesses to make choices that are good for the planet.
THE WINNERS
Our judges were blown away by how creative and innovative all the ideas coming from students were and it’s proven very difficult for them to pick a winner, but ultimately the winning group of Digital Day 2021 are…
Students Ellie Martin, Neha Delaffon, Lana Greenslade and Freya Foster from Maidstone Grammar School for Girls (MGGS)!
They won the WWF challenge with their idea ‘Tree of Life’, an app aimed to reduce carbon footprint, and the £500 cash prize for their school and will also receive a Digital Day Certificate!
Congratulations from the entire Digital Day team!
We are already planning Digital Day 2022, bigger and better. If you’re a school sign up here, if you are a company sign up here.
