Aged just 25, Lisa-Marie turned her back on a solid career in corporate tax to throw in her lot with unknown start-up ForrestBrown. Having established herself as one of the driving forces of the R&D tax credit firm’s phenomenal success, she was made a director at 27. Never one to stand still, she has become a recognised authority on innovation in the digital space and disruptive technologies.
As both a chartered tax adviser and qualified solicitor, Lisa-Marie is on the managing board at ForrestBrown. She provides strategic tax advice to more than 200 clients around the UK in the digital, creative and media sector.
Lisa-Marie is booked as an expert speaker at numerous industry events and is regularly published in key titles. Notably, she has had the rare honour of presenting on R&D tax credits at HMRC’s Annual Conference.
Lawrence Weber, Managing Partner Innovation at Karmarama
Lawrence has 17 years+ experience in digital, integrated and creative agencies joining Karmarama in 2012. In that time Lawrence has worked on global projects for BBC Worldwide, British Airways, Nokia, Range Rover and Unilever.
Lawrence is chair of the IPA Brand Technology Group, a member of both the BIMA Executive Committee and Google UK Creative Council, a start-up mentor for Unilever Foundry and The Friday Club and was named in The Drum’s 2016 list of the top 25 most influential people in Digital.
As Managing Partner Innovation, he helps clients get commercial and creative advantage from key platforms, new technologies and the start-up community.
Nadya Powell, Founder at Innovation Disorder
Nadya is passionate about Disruption and Diversity. She co-founded Innovation Social – a collaboration of senior and influential Innovation people across agencies and brands that holds formal events and informal networking sessions.
In addition, Nadya also writes the Lowdown column for Admap, speaks at events about things such as innovation, collaboration, social business and social data, os a member of Tech London Advocates, a mentor for Wayra and works with Hackney Community College on the Millennial Mentoring programme. She also co-founded The Great British Diversity Experiment, the first social science experiment to prove diversity leads to better creative solutions and has made the BIMA 100 two years in a row.
Paul Dawson, Founding Partner – Experience Design and Innovation, Fluxx
Paul has been working in digital since it was called ‘new media’. In his early days he built and led one of the most successful design teams who delivered things like Tesco.com, Barclays online banking, and Virgin Atlantic.com. Since 2011, he moved into a company he co-founded – Fluxx – whose focus is on the development and validation of new products and services where the use of experiments are key.
