Alan has a long founded interest in computers and is of an age when a range of 8 colours was considered high end and Google didn’t even exist. Alan’s digital journey began with Acorn and selling computers to the education market. He then went on to IT management and digital work (via caravan assembly!).
Following a sabbatical, Alan was looking to join a friendly, inclusive company that could help him grow his knowledge and experience even further. He joined Studio 24 in April 2018.
During his time at Studio 24, Alan has worked on a lot of implementation for Amazon Web Services and helped to build the basis for the Studio’s entire hosting platform. He has enjoyed working on some of the larger projects such as Crown Commercial Service due to the logistical challenges. Alan is known as a calm and reassuring voice on the Studio 24 support line, but one of the highlights of his year is the Cambridge Film Festival Gala night where he enjoys conversing in person with our lovely clients.
Outside of work, Alan is an avid console gamer, going back to the original 8-bit Sega Master System and Nintendo NES. He is a very keen Carcassonne player, retaining a top 100 position globally. He is also the captain of a pool team and until the recent pandemic had played virtually every Thursday evening for over 24 years.
