Inge Panneels is an artist and academic who creative practice interrogates space and place. She established her studio in Edinburgh in 1998 and has work in public collections across the UK. Notable public art projects include work for the NHS, Museum of Liverpool, BT, local authorities… As Senior Lecturer, she taught for over twelve years at the Artist Designer Maker course at the University of Sunderland. She is due to complete her PhD in Visual Culture at Northumbria University in 2019. The topic of her AHRC funded PhD research has focussed on how artists are mapping climate change in Scotland. Current academic research interests as a Research Fellow on the Creative Informatics project at Edinburgh Napier University, in collaboration with University of Edinburgh, Codebase and Creative Edinburgh, focusses on mapping in art. Particularly how sustainability and the Anthropocene inform creative making practices and the role data can play within that.
